Jooly's European Escapade

"We’re all going on a summer holiday. No more working for a week or two. Fun and laughter on a summer holiday. No more worries for me and you. For a week or two. We’re going where the sun shines brightly. We’re going where the sea is blue. We’ve seen it in the movies. Now let’s see if it’s true. Everybody has a summer holiday Doing things they always wanted to. So we’re going on a summer holiday To make our dreams come true For me and you."

Airport Mayhem

After weeks of reassurance from my very knowledgable travel agent that no paper ticket would be required as airlines have now replaced them with ETickets - I got a call at 5pm on the eve of departure from a very frantic travel adviser to inform me that some of my flights did require tickets after all. He came through in the end - somehow managing to get the tickets issued and dropped off at my door by 9pm that night.

More dramas to follow at the check-in counter. Between packing lightly, presents for friends & relos, and the "just in case" additions - I somehow managed to weigh in at an astonishing 38kg (just a tad over the 20kg allowance). The hair care products, towels & shoes became the first casualties. The second weigh-in was 32kg (still too fat). Dad took over and removed everything out of the bags and proceeded to repack - by this stage all my underwear was on show to passers-by. The final weigh in was an exceptable 26kg.

Saying my final farewells to family & friends *sniff*
